Kenneth Lee Sturgill

March 8, 1947 — October 13, 2016

Kenneth Lee "Kenny" Sturgill, 69, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on October 13, 2016. He was born on March 8, 1947, in Livingston, Kentucky, to the late Isaac and Claire (Martin) Sturgill. Kenny worked in the construction business for many years as a roofer. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the VFW Post 3281 in New Albany, Indiana. Kenny enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Along with his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Sturgill; stepdaughter, Anji Perdieu; and grandchildren, Hailiegh Smith and Dalton Denton. He is survived by his loving children, Kenny Sturgill, Jr., Shelley Jenkins, Kelly Harter, Johnny Sturgill, Kimberly Sturgill, Tyrone Perdieu, Jackie Inman, Brenda Smith, and Tonya Smith; sisters, Carol Sowders (Mike) and Irene McKenna (Melvin); along with 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with his Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Edwardsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kosair Charities (P.O. Box 37370, Louisville, Kentucky 40233).
