Kenneth "Kenny" David Sauer, Sr., passed away on August 9, 2026, in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 61. Born on November 19, 1964, in Louisville, Kenneth’s life was one characterized by creativity, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones.

Kenneth’s journey began in the heart of Louisville, where he cultivated a love for the arts and design from an early age. He attended Manual High School, a proud milestone that laid the foundation for his lifelong dedication to creativity. As both an interior and exterior designer, Kenneth’s work touched many homes and hearts, his skill, eye for beauty, and meticulous attention to detail leaving a lasting impact throughout his community.

Known for his remarkable generosity—he would gladly give the shirt off his back to anyone—Kenneth’s kindness radiated as brightly as his artistry. Those who knew him will recall the countless times he put others first, always ready with laughter, a helping hand, or words of guidance. Kenneth was creative in every sense of the word, not just as a designer but also as someone who delighted in drawing, frequently sharing his passion for art with others. He was eager to teach and encourage those around him, passing on wisdom in both art and life. His humorous outlook added levity to even the most challenging moments, making him a beloved figure among family and friends alike.

A man of many interests, Kenneth especially cherished drawing and fishing—quiet pastimes where he found both peace and inspiration. These hobbies offered a glimpse into his reflective nature and his appreciation of life’s simple, enduring joys.

Above all, Kenneth’s greatest legacy is the love he fostered within his family. He is survived by his wife, Angela Sauer. His memory lives on through his children: Amber Sauer, Amy Sauer, McKenna Hamby, Cameron Sauer, Destiny Sauer, Dameion Sauer, Seth Sauer, Zachery Sauer, and Heavenly Sauer. In addition, Kenneth’s love extends through his sister, Linda Cruz, his brothers, Larry Sauer and Danny Sauer, and his eight cherished grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with warmth and wisdom.

He is preceded in death by his beloved son Kenneth David Sauer, Jr.; his mother Darlene Calhoun Sauer; his father Adolph Sauer; his sister Arletha Sauer; and his brothers Ricky Sauer, Mike Sauer, and Joe Sauer. Their memory remained dear to Kenneth throughout his life, and he often shared stories filled with gratitude and love for those who went before him.

Family and friends will gather to honor Kenneth’s life at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. Visitation will be held on August 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will follow on August 18, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at the same location.
