Kenneth "Captain Buck" William Rissler of New Albany, Indiana, died in his home on Thursday, January 2, 2020, of cancer at age 72. Buck was a man of many passions; first among them was the sea. He was a storyteller, an independent thinker, a fisherman, and a songwriter. As a young man, he traveled extensively and, in his later years, found great joy in making wine and tending to his organic backyard garden.
Buck leaves behind his wife, Sarah Ring; his children, Amanda Mar and Cody Ring-Rissler; his sister, Gail Rissler; and brothers, Marty and Denny Durbin, along with his extended family and friends from around the globe. He is preceded in death by mother, Marjorie; father, Kenneth; sister, Kay; and son, Dylan.
A memorial gathering will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-New Albany on Saturday, January 11, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
