Kenneth Brooke Mather (68) passed away on October 21, 2025 as he lived his life…on his own terms. His path wasn’t always conventional but his life was full of adventure and contained many different facets that kept the world on its toes. Kenny as he was known to friends, grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from Doss High School.

He was on the Soccer team and was an excellent swimmer. He could be impulsive and depending on which way the wind blew could end up in California after a 40 hour road trip or in South Florida looking at the Ocean. Kenny was a jack of all trades in construction. Whether he was building a room addition, putting down tile, redoing a bathroom or building a deck he was a self made and skilled handyman. He worked on many family projects and his Mother and Brothers always appreciated the help.

One doesn’t always know where life will take you and such was the case with Kenny. After some stumbles in the middle of his life he worked with ministries in Florida to help maintain their infrastructure using his construction skills. Perhaps his greatest gift was helping many people get off the streets and out of the throws of addiction… A rewarding but sometimes frustrating endeavor.

Once back in Louisville, Kenny worked on many different projects and spent time with the family especially on weekends watching auto racing events. His favorite driver was A.J. Foyt and he shared his love of Motorsport with his younger brother Richard who became a fan for life. He played guitar with his older brother Larry and violin with his mother Mary. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do when he put his mind to it and focused on the task at hand. He will be missed. The world has certainly lost a character!

Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Jacob; grandparents, Rena,Jacob, Meveral and Katherine.

Kenny is survived by his mother Mary; his older brother. Larry; and his younger brother, Richard (Anne).

Godspeed Kenny……. keep on racing!
