Kenneth "Kenney" Brown, Sr.

March 19, 1925 — September 21, 2024

Louisville, Kentucky

Kenneth Lee Brown Sr., the son of William J. and Virginia Saxton Brown, was born March 19th, 1925 in Louisville, Ky. He entered into his heavenly rest September 21, 2024 at the age of 99 years. He passed at his “home”, The Beehive Assisted Living facility in Goshen, Ky.

He was an extremely creative, and talented man. He was full of “Brownality”. He loved people, photography, animals, working with his hands and telling folks how things should be done. He had his own way of doing things and it was amazing how his mind worked to get difficult tasks accomplished.

He attended Manual High School and Kentucky Military Academy before enlisting in the Navy at 17 during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris Jean, his great-granddaughter, Kerry Brown.

He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Craig (Paulette Smith), Kenneth Lee Brown Jr., (Betty Sue), grandchildren, Loren and Jennifer Brown, Kenneth Lee Brown III (Kelly), Stephanie Brown. Great grand children, Cameron, Cole, Mia and Scarlet Rose Maroon Brown.

There are a few people who did not share his last name but were family to him and to us. They are Ginna, Hallie, and Gus Mooser, and Paige Huber who loved our dad like family. They were instrumental in his care and well being for a long time. Their devotion and help is appreciated more than they would ever know. The staff at the Bee Hive deserve recognition as well. They loved our dad and he loved them.

A celebration of his life will be held November 1st at Southeast Christian church Chapel in the Woods 1407 Moser Road, Louisville, Ky. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm with his service following at 12pm at the Chapel in the Woods facility. Newcomer Funeral Home, East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive) here in Louisville was instrumental in helping with details concerning his passing.

Donations may be made to attention: Southeast Christian Church, Chapel in the Woods or Hosparus. To leave a memory of Kenneth or a condolence for the family, please use the "Guestbook" option below.
