Kenneth H. Lone, 83, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a Army veteran, former Floyd County Deputy Sheriff and founding member of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department. Ken retired from International Harvester after 30 years of service.
He was born on August 3, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Kenneth R. and Bessie (McClellen) Lone. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Sowders; and brothers, Earl, Louis, and Leroy Lone.
Ken is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn (Byrne) Lone; children, Richard Lone (Bonnie), Sherri Dobbins, Robin Highfill (Keith), Dana Wade (Dallas), Karen Jones (Donald); siblings, Zella Pierce, Tom Lone (Marcy); 1 granddaughter, 7 grandsons and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2PM to 8 PM Monday, August 10, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with private burial to follow at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.
