Kenneth Morris Downs

Kenneth "Kenny" Morris Downs, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025.

He was born on October 17, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to late LeRoy and Eddie Mae (Frye) Downs. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Ronnie, Griffin and sisters, Leona, Peggy, Mildred and Mary.

Kenny was a 1962 graduate of Central High School in Louisville, KY. He served in the United States Navy for two years, after the Navy he worked Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company and retired from Intec Building Services at Central State Hospital. Kenny enjoyed singing in the Brotherhood Choir at Oakland Baptist Church, and meeting his friends at Churchill Downs.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Hattie Louise Tillman-Downs, son, Kenneth Petty (Heather), four grandchildren, Kobe, Kenneth Jr., Kendrick, Kenyatta, sister, Evelene and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm/Noon on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

Burial will be on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 10:30 am at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central (2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160).

The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions in Kenny’s memory be made to Wayside Christian Mission and/or Dare to Care Food Bank.
