Kenneth Perry Brown, 83, passed away peacefully at home on June 28th, 2024. He was a graduate of Flaget High School and retired employee of Ford Motor Company. Kenny was a devout catholic and belonged to many catholic communities over the course of his lifetime including St. Joseph, St. Athanasius, and St. Aloysius.
He spent much of his time coaching youth in football at St. Athanasius and bowling at Trinity High School for many years. One of his many passions was bowling. He belonged to countless leagues, traveled for tournaments, and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. Kenny loved spending time connecting with people, whether that was chatting with old friends, going to his monthly cousin’s dinners, or catching up with his brothers and sisters. He loved spending time with his family, boating and fishing at Barren River Lake, you could always catch him outside enjoying the sunshine. Most recently he enjoyed seeing his great grandchildren play and grow when they came to visit.
He is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Sonia Francis Boyd Brown; son, Kenneth P. Brown; parents, Edna Palmer Brown and Perry G. Brown; sister, Joyce Schmitt; and sister-in-law, Sherry Brown. He is survived by his daughter, Jill Brown-Hall; daughter-in-law, Laura Brown; five grandchildren, Nick Hall (Gabrielle), Noelle Hall (Cody Stone), Noah Hall (Brooke), Hannah Purdy (Alex), and Olivia Mackin (Colin); great grandchildren, Ebba and Wyatt; brothers, Tom Brown and John Brown (Kathy); sister, Janet (Earl); brother-in-law Bob Schmitt; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his sweet dog, Jazzabelle.
The family would also like to extend a big thank you to his many caregivers who have taken such good care of him over the past few years.
The visitation with be held Sunday, July 14th, 2024, from 2:00pm - 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243, The Funeral Mass with be held Monday, July 15th at 10:00am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 212 Mount Mercy Drive, Peewee Valley, KY 40056, with burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, KY.
