Kelly Rae Piercy, age 54 of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. She was born to the late Stephen Ray Simpson and Karren Young on December 24, 1961.
Kelly attended Fairdale High School and graduated in the class of 1979, before attending the University of Louisville, where she was a brief attendee of Speed Engineering School. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many, and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Family and friends were Kelly's passion and delight. She was a uniquely artistic craftsperson who portrayed significant creativity that demonstrated her passion and respect of all things beautiful in this world. She loved to spend time with friends, her beagles, watching baseball and was happy being outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and children. She also was a devoted sister and family member to those who loved her most. Kelly always took great pride in everything she did and was passionate about the important things in life; all will sorely miss her.
Kelly is survived by her brother, Steve (Gina) Simpson, and her two sisters, Kim (Erv) Stone and Kourtney (John) Martinez, kids Scott (Jessica) Piercy and Shelby Piercy, along with two grandchildren Elijah Piercy (Scott & Jessica) and Arya Piercy (Scott & Jessica). She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). Her Funeral Ceremony will be on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Louisville Cemetery (1339 Poplar Level Road, Louisville, KY 40217).
