Kelli Inez Bacle

January 25, 1939 — July 20, 2021

Kelli Inez Bacle,82, of Louisville, KY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 20th, 2021 after a five-year battle with lung cancer.
Essie Inez Brown aka Kelli Inez Bacle was born on January 25, 1939 to Gabriel Alton ("Dick") & Avis Inez Johnson Brown in Mobeetie, TX. Her family moved to Hereford, TX in 1947.

She was married in 1955 to John Killens and in 1956 moved to Slidell, LA and then New Orleans in 1957 where she attended night school to earn her high school diploma, worked as a typist and then in the Circulation Department at the Times Picayune newspaper. John and Kelli welcomed their daughter, Becky in 1958. Kelli became a legal secretary. While there she became a member of Coliseum Place Baptist Church and served as a youth leader.
They separated in 1960 and she moved to Amarillo, TX and worked as a legal secretary. While in Amarillo she started modeling and taught modeling and it was at that time she changed her name to Kelli. In 1961 she moved with Becky to Dallas, TX where she continued work as a legal secretary.

In 1961, she met and married Morris Bacle and moved to Garland, TX where they attended the Presbyterian Church. In July 1964, their son Bryan was born and they moved to Los Angeles, CA in October 1964 where she worked as a legal secretary from 1964 to 1969, and went to work at Merle Norman cosmetics as the assistant to J.B. Nethercutt. In 1970, Kelli moved back to Hereford, TX along with Becky and Bryan and in 1971 she moved back to Los Angeles, where she worked as a legal secretary. In 1975 she started law school at the University of West Los Angeles where she obtained her J.D. degree in 1979 and was admitted to the California Bar. She practiced corporate/administrative law.
In 1984, Kelli started ballroom dancing, including competitive and exhibition dancing where she won numerous awards including one where she danced with her son, Bryan. Kelli also started up tap dance lessons in 1993 and performed with at various events.
In 1988, Kelli began preparation for certification as a fraud examiner and was certified in 1993.
In 1996, Kelli moved from Santa Monica, CA to Canyon Lake, CA and then to Rockport-Fulton, TX in 1997 where she worked as a legal assistant and then a part-time office manager for Holiday Beach Property Owner's Association. She also joined and was baptized at Holiday Beach Baptist Church where she also served as the pianist, on the Finance Committee and Church Clerk. In 2008, she joined the First Baptist Church in Rockport, TX, where she was a member of the choir, played hand bells in the Bell Choir and played piano for the Sunday School at the Gull Point Nursing Home. When the home where she was living in was sold in 2015, she moved to Louisville, KY and joined Ormsby Heights Baptist Church where she served in the choir. Kelli's hobbies included doing extensive genealogy research on the different family lines, playing Mexican Train and other games with her friends and family and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Kelli was predeceased by her parents, Dick and Avis Brown and her brother, Donald Brown.

She is survived by her sisters, Nellie Jean (Ray) Zellner and Lin (Bo) Bobo; her daughter, Becky (Mike) Alfassa; her son, Bryan Bacle; her grandsons, Mike (Anne) Alfassa and Geoff (Joanna) Alfassa and her great grandchildren, Zackary, Elias, Ezekiel, Adeline, Ellie Jo and Abraham.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 29th, 2021, at Ormsby Heights Baptist Church (2120 Lower Hunters Trace, Louisville, KY). The service will also be streamed live for those who are unable to attend. A small family gathering where her ashes will be buried will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at around 12:00 noon at Shady Grove Cemetery in Nocona, Texas.
