It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keith Jeffery, age 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, who left us on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Known for his vibrant spirit and boundless affection, Keith was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. As a child, he was lovingly nicknamed "Kato" after his admiration for Bruce Lee, a testament to his playful and spirited nature. His passions were many, including singing, dancing, and cheering on Uof L Sports. He cherished long conversations with family, attended concerts with joy, and made every moment spent with loved ones a treasure.
Keith's bond with his brothers was particularly special; he epitomized a laid-back personality, enjoying the simplicity of life among friends and family. His warmth and jovial demeanor touched the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him, leaving a legacy of love and laughter.
Born on July 26, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky, Keith was the beloved son of Christina (Tisdale) Hayden and Prince Lucas. He is preceded in death by his brothers, John Sherman Jeffery, Lee “Tim” Jeffery, his sister Jada Jones, and his cherished nephews, Eston Graver and Juan Jones.
Keith's memory will continue to shine through his daughter, Shakeeda Mitchell, his son, Keith Jeffery, and his siblings, Donnie Jeffery, Nora (Mark) Graver, Fran Gordon, and Edward Jones. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, along with countless extended family members and friends who will hold him in their hearts forever.
The visitation will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funerals & Receptions Southwest Louisville Chapel, followed by a funeral service at noon. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery, located at 9800 Brownsboro Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40241.
