Kayona Mae Bagwell

October 8, 1956 — June 13, 2018

Kayona Mae Perry Bagwell, age 61, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018. She was born in Shelbyville, Kentucky and graduated from Shelby County High School. Kayona was employed at Eastern High School in the cafeteria. She was a member of Elk Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Jackson Perry.

Kayona is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Kenneth; children, Adrian Sickles (Veronica), Kevin Sickles (Nikki), Myra Thompson (Mike), Cheryl Bagwell (Ricky Thomas), Kenneth Bagwell, Jr. (Erica), Troy Bagwell (April) and Anthony Bagwell; 23 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 8 adopted grandchildren; god-daughter, Dorothea Maddox; sisters, Barbara White, Beverly Tyler (Phil), Selma Perry, Sheila Thompson (Richard); brothers, Julius Perry and Wallace Perry (Bonnie); aunt, Virginia Francis Beach; uncle, David Perry; a host of nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be 2-8pm Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel in Middletown and 11am -1pm on Wednesday, June 20th. A celebration of Kayona's life will be 1pm Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
