Kathy L. Jordan Starr, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 17, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to Corlis and Mary (Clark) Jordan. She is preceded in death by her father, Corlis E. Jordan; mother, Mary L. Jordan; and siblings, JoAnn Hafling, Ronald Bolton, Paul Bolton, Michael Bolton and Earlene Jordan.
Kathy is survived by her loving family, daughter, Stephanie Brown; sons, Timothy Starr, Jeremy Starr; sisters, Carla Waterbury, Neva Jordan; grandson, Joshua Long, Jr.; as well as a host of family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Kathy was known for her strong work ethic and warm spirit. She was a graduate of Southern High School class of 1973. She spent twenty-seven years with Winn-Dixie before joining Check's Cafe and Franks Meat and Produce. Her daily interactions with customers at Check's brought her immense joy, and she was cherished by both coworkers and patrons alike. Her family and friends will remember Kathy for her kindness, sense of humor, wonderful smile and her one of a kind laugh. She found happiness in life's simple moments and touched many lives with her friendly nature and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Kathy was an avid Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs fan and loved her Louisville Cards. She enjoyed traveling to the Gulf Shores and making everlasting memories with her cherished family. She was a warrior and courageously fought breast cancer for more than thirteen years. Kathy will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel.
The family requests that contributions in Kathy’s memory be made to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions to assist with final expenses.
