Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Gohmann 1937-2019
Services & Gatherings
Visitation will be at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Pkwy. in the Fireside Room on Monday, January 28, 2019, from 10:00 -11:45am with a celebration of Kathy's life to follow in the chapel at noon.
Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Gohmann, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 25, 2019. She was the fourth of seven children born to the late James Walter and Mary Lillian Clements. A native of Louisville, Kathy was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Ursuline College. She is survived by her five children: Terri Gohmann, Diane Tripp (Mike), Paul Gohmann (Tyna), Karen Rogers (Rick) and Lisa Orrick (Mike); 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by Paul Gohmann Sr., her loving husband of 58 years.
Kathy accomplished many things in her lifetime. In addition to raising five children, she spent her life living out her faith in action. A passionate voice for the unborn, she opened and was the first director of A Woman's Choice Resource Center (now known as BsideU For Life) a crisis pregnancy center through Southeast Christian Church. Kathy led many Bible studies, both in her home and through various Christian ministries, including Christian Women's Club. Known for being a prayer warrior, Kathy was involved in many prayer ministries. One example of this was a prayer group that met weekly for over 30 years. If you knew Kathy for very long, you knew you were in her prayers. She was an example and mentor to many people.
Kathy joined her husband in real estate, both as an agent and assistant. Later in life, they enjoyed flipping houses together. With an eye for design and a love of color, Kathy enjoyed making things beautiful, whether it was a delicious meal or a comfortable space. Kathy was an avid reader and loved music, playing games (especially cards), and studying God's Word.
