Katherine Ruth Shope, 53, of Louisville, passed away of complications from surgery on May 30, 2014.
Kathy was born on May 7, 1961, in Camp LeJune, North Carolina to John and Leeveda (Longworth) Shope. Her mother preceded her in death.
Kathy is survived by her three children, Nicholas Shope, Kyle Hunt, and Christopher Hunt; seven grandchildren; father John E. Shope Jr. and step-mother, Brenda; brother, John E. Shope III, and long-time companion, George Stevens.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). Funeral Ceremony will be held Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
