Katherine"Katie" Lester, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
Katie was a devoted mother and grandmother, an avid bridge player, loved the University of Louisville, and was a longtime volunteer in the gift shop at Audubon Hospital.
Katie was born on March 24, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to George and Alice Quigley Jonte. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bobby Gene Lester, and son, David Lester.
Katie is survived by her, daughter, Kathy Carwile (Jerry), son, Mark Lester (Dede), daughter-In-Law, Melanie Lester. grandchildren, Ryan Lester, Jenna Lester, Madison Lester, and Dillon Carwile.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive). Her Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 pm with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Katie's memory be made to the American Heart Association.
