Karen Sue (Baker) Wood, 64, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017. She had worked as a long-time carrier for the News & Tribune. Karen enjoyed painting and fishing, and her favorite TV show that she never missed an episode of was The Young and the Restless. She was a part of a BUNCO group and was also involved in a bowling league at Blackiston Mill.
She was born on August 27, 1952, in Syracuse, New York, to the late Earl and Rebecca (Turner) Baker. Karen was also recently preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Wood. She is survived by her children, Stacy Wood (Shella), Kelly Biszmaier (Willie), and Shannon Wood (David); 9 grandchildren; and numerous good friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) with her Funeral Service taking place at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Karen's wishes, and she will be laid to rest privately at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
