Karen Jeanette Dennison

July 12, 1958 — August 25, 2021

Karen Dennison, 63, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Karen was a caregiver at heart and always thought about others before herself. She dearly loved her family and always enjoyed drinking her sweet tea. Karen will be remembered by many for her straight-forward attitude.

She was born on July 12, 1958, in Ft. Leonard, Missouri, to the late John and Hattie (Tucker) Rankin. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Rebecca Hayes, Patrick Rankin, Pauline Fulmer, Patricia Rankin, and Donnie Rankin.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Crystal (David) Strothman; son, Gary Dennison, Jr.; brothers, Earl and Ronnie Rankin; grandchildren, Tommy Gunn, Jr., Brianna Henon, Marissa Strothman, and David Strothman III; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow in accordance with Karen's wishes.
