Karen Dale (Freeman) Proffitt, 66, of Corydon, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. She loved her children and grandchildren. Karen was also an avid animal lover.
She was born on March 15, 1949 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Charles and Flora Mae (Lewis) Freeman. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bobby, Geni, Donnie, Jimmy, Judy, and Kay.
Karen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert "Bobby" Proffitt; children, Ronnie Proffitt (Valarie), Suzanne Crady (fiancé, Jay Thomas), Donna Wheeler (Danny), Jerry Proffitt (Heather); sisters, Mary Lou Stressing, Lola Leffler; grandchildren, Shane, Dalton, Ethan, Brooke, Luke, Jalyn, Damieon, Dylan, Sarah, Hollie; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 6 PM Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9 AM. Her Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Monday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
Contributions in Karen's memory may be made to Amedysis Hospice Care (305 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
