Karen Lynn Chapman

Karen Lynn Chapman passed away on September 9, 2026.

Karen was a 1979 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, and she went on to build a long and steady career with Sodexo Cafeteria at GE, where she worked for more than 30 years. Her dedication over the course of those years reflected the same dependable and caring spirit that so many people knew and appreciated in her daily life.

She was well liked by everyone and remembered as a very kind, down-to-earth person who was always there for others. Karen brought warmth to those around her in simple, meaningful ways, and her presence made people feel welcome and cared for.

Karen found joy in the things that made life special. She enjoyed going to holiday craft shows and spending relaxing time watching her favorite television shows, Bold and the Beautiful and Young and the Restless. She also liked to have a good glass of wine and treasured the moments that brought comfort, laughter, and connection.

Among her happiest memories were the times she spent at Nolin Lake with her husband, Big Mike. They also enjoyed traveling together, sharing experiences and making memories that will be cherished by those who knew how much those times meant to her.

Karen was preceded in death by her loving husband Big Mike Chapman; parents, Richard and Janice Phillips; father-in-law, Chap; grandparents, Cecil and Frank Felts and John and Mary Catherine Phillips and her step-son, Michael Chapman 

Karen leaves behind to cherish her memories is her son, Chris Phillips; bonus son, John (Nicole) Chapman; bonus daughter, Jennifer Holland; brothers, Craig (Melody) Phillips and Daniel Phillips; grandchildren, Thomas, Nicholas, Dakota, Brent and Annabella; nephews, Matthew and Benjamin Phillips and many special friends.

Karen Lynn Chapman will be remembered with love for her kindness, her loyalty, and the easy, genuine way she moved through the world. Her life touched many people, and her memory will remain dear to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
