June Carol Martin Mattingly, age 77 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014. She graduated from the Norton School of Nursing in Louisville, KY., and was a registered nurse for many years. She had a long nursing career at Frazier Rehabilitation Center and was a board member of the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association. June was an artist, jewelry maker and lover of all music. However, her greatest love was her family. June was a faithful member of Southeast Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Christopher and Margaret Stewart Martin; sister, Norma Prentice.
Mrs. Mattingly is survived by her children, Julie Congleton (Scott), Lisa Porter (David), Lora Looney and Kimberly Slusher; grandchildren, Kara Looney, Brandon Thomas, Dylan Looney Brittny Congleton, Zachary Thomas, Jacob Slusher, Rachel Porter and Cash Porter; great-grandchild, Adela Slusher; brother, David Martin (Linda); and also a host of relatives and friends.
Memorial ceremony will be 7pm Friday, December 12, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, with visitation there from 5pm until time of service.
