Julia Mae Cunningham, a woman whose life was marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to family, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in Clarksville, Indiana. Born on April 7, 1941, in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, Julia's journey was one of strength and kindness, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.

Julia was a proud graduate of New Albany High School, a testament to her early commitment to education and personal growth. She devoted much of her professional life to serving her country as a clerk for the Census Bureau, where she worked diligently until 2004. Her career reflected her hardworking nature and keen intelligence, attributes that shone through in every aspect of her life.

Known for her warm heart and honest spirit, Julia was more than just a public servant; she was a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a devoted great-grandmother. She found immense joy in watching her family grow and thrive, an achievement she considered her proudest accomplishment. Her life was rich with the laughter and companionship of her loved ones, including her daughter Shirreen (Shane) Turner, sons David (Dawn), Chris (Sherry), Greg, and Terry Cunningham, as well as granddaughter Kelsee (Reece) Stamper. Her legacy lives on through 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of Julia’s remarkable spirit.

Julia cherished simple pleasures that brought her peace and happiness. She enjoyed going to the beach, spending time with family, having her hair done, coloring, solving word searches, playing board games, and dining out. These moments of joy were reflections of her kindhearted and vibrant personality.

Her journey was also shaped by the loving memories of those who passed before her: her father Jack Dempsy Terry, her mother Myrtle Katherine Terry, and her brother Denford Denny Terry. Their memories remained a quiet strength in her life.
