Judy C. Rippeto died on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the age of 82. She was a resident of the Willows at Springhurst at the time of her death.
Judy was a native of Columbia, MO, where she was employed by the Baptist Sudent Union at the University of Missouri and later retired from the University of Missouri Medical Center. She, her late husband, Rev. J. Fred Rippeto, and their three children were appointed to be missionaries in Hong Kong in 1969 by the Southern Baptist Convention. Fred's sudden death during orientation made her a young widow and she returned to Missouri to raise her children.
Judy loved to cook, sew, and read romance novels. She moved to Louisville, KY in 2008 following a stroke and enjoyed sharing a home with her daughter's family for many years. The family is grateful to the staff of the Middletown Village, the Forum at Brookside, and the Willows for caring for her as she declined in health.
Judy is survived by her children Fred (Lori), Cristi Cobban (Jim), and Tim (Missy). She is also survived by her grandchildren Cadence, Bryan (Elizabeth), Courtney, Cory, Kemble, Bennett (Megan), Cassidy (Jeffrey), and Baylor. She also had two great-granddaughters and expected her first great-grandson soon.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 4:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Middletown (11721 Main Street, Middletown, KY 40243). A private burial service was held in Columbia, MO.
Memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church "Future Without Walls" Fund, 11721 Main Street, Middletown, KY 40243.
