Judith "Judy" Thornberry Bartley, a beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Louisville, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on July 18, 1950, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Judy was a remarkable woman whose warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Judy retired from AT&T where she made lifelong friendships. However, her career was just one facet of her rich and fulfilling life. Judy was known for her welcoming personality, being the life of the party, and a great host who turned every gathering into a cherished memory. A natural matchmaker, she delighted in bringing people together - friends, family, and even strangers- believing whole heartily that life is richer when shared.

Beyond her work and social gatherings, Judy cherished her hobbies, particularly gardening and travel. She cultivated her garden with the same care and love she offered to her family and friends, bringing joy to herself and others through her efforts. Judy's travels enriched her life, granting her stories and experiences that she willingly shared, bringing a light to any conversation.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Bartley, and her cherished daughters: Stacy Block, Christy Ford, and Jessica Howard. She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Bentley Jones, Macauley Barkelew, Matthew Block, Katie Block, and Bradley Ford, and great grandchildren Mary Harper Jones and Levi Ford who were a constant source of joy in her life.

Her legacy continues through her loving sister, Kay Ledesma (Dave), as well as many dear nieces and nephews: Charles Manion IV (Patty), Stacy Miner (Ben), Chad Manion (Tara), Amanda Niedwick (Josh), Brad Ledesma (Jenny), Alicia Schroeder (Alex), Cindy Young (John), and Crista Thompson (Daniel).

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Joseph Manion Jr., her mother, Virginia Mae Manion, and her siblings Charles Manion III, Patricia Fowler, and Robert "Bobby" Manion. Judy was also preceded by her niece, Zarah Goatee.

Judy Thornberry Bartley will be remembered for her incredible spirit, generosity, and the countless memories she created for all those who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of kindness and love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life Monday December 15, 2025, at Captains Quarters 5700 Captains Quarters Rd, Prospect, KY 40059 from 4pm to 7pm.
