Judith “Judy” Shreve Borders passed away on September 21, 2026, just days before her 96th birthday. She was born on September 26, 1930, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Judy was a graduate of Atherton High School. She was a lifelong member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, a steady part of the church community throughout her life. She was also an avid bowler who won many awards over the years. She brought both talent and joy to the sport she loved.

Judy was very creative and artistic with many gifts. She enjoyed calligraphy and needlepoint, and she was known for the care and creativity she brought to her work. She also loved to travel and was able to see many wonderful places throughout the country, making new friends and happy memories along the way.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Borders, father Asa Elmore Shreve Sr., mother Lillian Naomi (Cruther) Shreve, brother Asa Elmore Shreve Jr. (Nancy), brother Rodham Kenner Shreve (Roma Lee), sister Lillian Rose Shreve Sandridge (Donald) sister Margy Shreve Schultz (Eugene).

She is survived by her sister, Carole Naomi Strange (Jerry), as well as several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who will remember her with love. 

Judy’s life was marked by faith, creativity, and the enjoyment she found in the people and activities she cherished. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
