Juanita Vance, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on October 28, 2016. She retired from Belknap Hardware after 29 years of service. Nita had a passion for bowling and was a charter member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
Nita was born on January 1, 1920 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Asher and Anna (Wiggington) Cook. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Merle C. Vance, three brothers and two sisters.
Nita is survived by her daughters, Sue (John) Coddington, Daughter and Beverly (Robert) Higgins, five grandchildren: Tammi, Kelli, Vicki, Terri, Jami, twelve great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Vilma Grant and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, October 31, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243).
Her funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
