Juanita Wilson Nichols Mcguffin

Juanita Wilson Nichols McGuffin, 76, of LaGrange, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 2, 2020. She retired from Norton Healthcare after 26 years as a Patient Access/Admission Representative. Juanita was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Juanita was beautiful inside and out with a captivating smile. She was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the piano for worship at her church for many years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with her many friends. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and watching their ballgames. She enjoyed trips to the library and reading, traveling with her husband, shopping with her daughters and listening to her son preach, whom was also her Pastor.

Juanita was born on July 20, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late James Howard and Ruth Wilson. Juanita was also preceded in death by sisters, Irene Ledford (Millard Sr.), Allene Stevens (Edgar) a brother, Glendon Howard and her former husband and father of her children, David E. Nichols, Sr. Juanita leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Herman "Sonny" McGuffin; her son, Bishop David E. Nichols, Jr. (Lagonda); daughters, Tammy Carter (Todd), Janita Willingham (Chris); stepson, Eric McGuffin (Heather); four grandchildren, Erica Sharlow (Jeremy), Jager Carter, Cade and Luke Willingham; three step-grandchildren, Devon, Trevor and Carter McGuffin; three nieces; five nephews; many great nieces and nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY (in Middletown). A celebration of Juanita's life will be 11 am Wednesday, January 8th at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Bishop David E. Nichols, Jr. and Dr. Tim Harper.
