Juanita Wright-Harris was born on January 18, 1949 to the late George and Virdest Wright. She departed from this life on November 22, 2019. Juanita attended Eastern High School and graduated from Lincoln Institute. She was employed with Philip Morris where she retired after many years of service. Juanita was a very devoted person who loved her church. She joined Bethel Baptist at an early age. "Nita" was one of the oldest members of Bethel. Brought up during her time at Bethel, Nita was active as a Choir member. She served as president of the Usher Board until she was called to Glory. Nita was always willing to do her part in spreading the Gospel of Christ. Nita enjoyed working in the garden planting flowers. She enjoyed fishing and sitting on the river bend was her relaxing pastime. Nita is survived by her son Lamont Wright (Devon), grandson Lamont Jr. and Javon. Sisters Annie Allen, Christine Wright, Vera Wright, one brother Samuel Wright, one aunt and one uncle both of Alabama. Juanita had a special, special love for all of her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins and the many friends she made along the way. Juanita will surely be missed.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.
