Joyce Mae Rapp

Joyce Mae Rapp, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Joyce was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She devoted her life to her family and was loved by all. Joyce spent several years of her life working at Amshoff's kid care where she made an everlasting impact on the children that she cared for. She then moved to St. Mary's & Elizabeth Hospital and served many years in the linen service before retiring. Joyce enjoyed keeping herself busy working with her children in the security business. Joyce will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. WE LOVE YOU MOMMA.

She was born on January 29, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to William and Lillian (Witten) Jackman. She is preceded in death by her father, William Jackman; mother, Lillian Jackman; husband, August "Augie" Rapp; brother, Buck (Helen) Jackman; and brother-in-law, Ken Schwenker.

Joyce is survived by her loving family, children, Mark (Deanna) Fiedler; Tina Fiedler; Mathew "Mattie" (Helen) Fiedler, Chris Rapp, Sheila Lyddane; grandchildren, Sean (Carolann) Fiedler, Justin (Kelsea) Fiedler, Emily (Will) Burns, Danielle (Michael) Fiedler-Russ, Austin (Taffanie) Fiedler, Lexi Rapp, Trenton Rapp, Andrew Rapp, Kristihanna Rapp, Jody Lyddane, Jessie Lyddane; 12 great-granchildren; brother, Tom (Judy) Jackman; sisters, Mary Ann (Charlie) Green, Juanita Schwenker, Nancy Blessitt-Novotny, Joann (Mike) Hernandez; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Joyce will be laid to rest at Cave Hill Cemetery at a later date.
