Joyce Ann O'Dell
February 28, 1941 — March 13, 2022
Joyce Ann O'Dell, Hodgenville, KY - 81, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Baptist Health Hardin with her closest family by her side.
While Joyce was born in Brownsville, Ky, she later moved to Louisville, then Shepherdsville before settling down in Hodgenville. She enjoyed bowling, playing horse shoes, dancing, traveling the country with friends, and being with family.
She helped start O'Dell Realty and Auction Company alongside her doting husband of 63 years, Lavon O'Dell. Together they became a staple of both the Hodgenville and Louisville communities, running auctions for JCPS for many years.
She's preceded in death by her daughter, Regina Kay O'Dell; her parents, Vernal and Ruth Vincent; and her sister Sandy Daugherty.
She is survived by her husband, Lavon O'Dell; two sons, Lavon O'Dell Jr. (Linda) and Ronnie O'Dell (Dawn); and her daughter, Renee Rhodes (Chris). She was loved and adored by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be from 1-4pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Middletown (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). A service celebrating her life will take place at 11am on Monday at the funeral home. Joyce will be laid to rest at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery.
