Joyce Newton

Joyce Newton, née Johnson, a cherished member of the Louisville community, passed away on June 6, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on February 10, 1958, in Louisville, KY, Joyce lived a life marked by love, devotion to family, and an infectious zest for life.

A devoted wife to Jerry Newton, Joyce's family was the cornerstone of her existence. She was a loving mother to her sons Jared Newton, Justin (Morgan) Newton, Jason Newton, and Jeremy (Kendra) Newton. Joyce’s heart was truly warmed by the joy of her grandchildren: Leo James Newton, Aria Joyce Newton, and the soon-to-arrive Joel Michael Newton, who eagerly awaited his grandmother's embrace. Her family ties extended warmly to her siblings Wayne (Mary Beth) Johnson, David (Debbie) Johnson, Paul (Martha) Johnson, Larry (Barbara) Johnson, Adelaide (Rick) Walker, and Linda (Paula) Johnson. She was also deeply connected to a host of extended family and dear friends Debbie Harrison and Linda Montgomery.

Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved son Jeremy Newton, her parents Wally and Mary Jane Johnson, and her brother-in-law Rick Walker. Their memory remains forever enshrined in her legacy.

Known for her vibrant personality and distinctive interests, Joyce found profound happiness in spoiling her grandkids and enjoyed the thrill of estate sales and loved a good deal. Friends and family fondly recall her particular fondness for McDonald's Diet Coke and her spirited trips to Las Vegas and The Boat, moments that reflected both her playful spirit and her zest for life’s pleasures.

Joyce’s final moments were peaceful and reflective of the love she gave so freely; she received her heartfelt wish, passing gently at home surrounded by those she held most dear.

Those wishing to honor Joyce's memory may attend the visitation on June 15, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. A Mass will be held on June 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Martha Church,2825 Klondike Ln, Louisville, KY 40218, followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40205, beginning at 11:30 AM.

Joyce Newton’s life was one of unyielding warmth, loyalty, and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew her. Her spirit will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends.
