Joyce Alaine Fletcher-Young, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025. Joyce was a dedicated mother and beloved Mamaw, celebrated for her nurturing spirit and loving nature.
Born on August 9, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky, Joyce was the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Moore) Frazier. She devoted her life to her family and took great joy in making cherished memories. Joyce had a vibrant passion for arts and crafts, often expressing her creativity through coloring and diamond painting. An excellent cook, she enjoyed sharing meals with her family as well as tending to her plants.
Joyce had a fulfilling career in education, retiring from the Jefferson County Public School Board. Her passion for reading and teaching children to read was evident in her extensive library collection. She also had a love for travel, which enriched her life with experiences and stories.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Frazier, Sr.; mother, Mary Regina Frazier; her devoted husband, Robert L. Young, Sr.; brothers Daniel and Lawrence Frazier; sister, Kim Mitchell; daughter Niece Fletcher; and son Anthony Young.
Joyce's legacy lives on in her loving family: children Henry (Tijana) Fletcher, Jr., Larry (Leslie) Fletcher, Sr., Marsha Young, Calvin (Dana) Young, Deborah Cleasant, Robert Young, Jr., Joan Young, and Linda (Walter) Perry; her sister, Pilsey Muhammad; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
