Joyce Ann Burbridge, born on June 10, 1945, in Columbia, Kentucky, passed away on May 14, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Throughout her life, Joyce exemplified devotion to both her family and community, leaving a legacy marked by kindness, commitment, and unwavering care for others.
Joyce worked diligently in manufacturing on the production line, yet her greatest passion and dedication was always directed toward her family. Those who knew her best recall her nurturing spirit and the boundless love she offered, not only to her own kin but also to anyone in need. Her innate ability to care for people, regardless of circumstance or familiarity, remains one of the most cherished memories of her life.
She was deeply rooted in her faith, regularly attending church and actively participating in bible studies. Joyce found joy in hosting holidays, cooking, and traveling, pursuits that further reflected her warm and generous nature. To her, these were more than hobbies—they were avenues through which she connected with loved ones, creating lasting memories and fostering stronger bonds.
Her proudest accomplishment was unmistakably the treasured time spent with family and friends. Joyce’s family was her world, and every moment shared with them was celebrated as one of the best days of her life. She leaves behind a devoted son, Gregory Keith Burbridge and his wife Leni; a loving daughter, Jocelyn Burbridge; a cherished grandson, Gregory Michael Burbridge and his wife Liz; Nycia Hamilton and her husband Cameron. Her legacy is further enriched by the presence of great-grandchildren Nani, Jett, Paris, Gianni, Lucie, and another expected soon, ensuring that her spirit will continue to thrive through future generations.
Joyce was also a caring aunt to Donna Ford and her husband Don; nieces, Ebony Taylor, and Destiny Martin, alongside numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were fortunate to know her warmth and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Nellie Burbridge, and her brothers Roy, Charles, and Ronald David Burbridge, whose memories she held dear throughout her life.
The community will gather in remembrance of Joyce Ann Burbridge at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Joyce’s life was marked by a loving devotion to her family and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. Her gentle spirit and enduring warmth have left an indelible mark on all who were privileged to know her. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered with respect and admiration.
