Joshua L. Heavrin

Joshua L. Heavrin, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 48. Born on July 4, 1978, in New Albany, Joshua will be remembered as an outgoing man who found joy in the world around him and in the people he loved most.

For many years, Joshua worked as a painters helper for Corvette Restoration. He enjoyed being outside and had a deep interest in learning about and watching programs about history. Music and singing was also an important part of his life, as were his beloved fur babies. Above all, Joshua loved spending time with his family, and that love remained at the heart of his life.

Joshua is survived by his wife, Paula Bottoms; his daughter, Nyoka Heavrin; his son, Elijah Heavrin; and his brother, Chris Heavrin. He also leaves behind the many memories shared with those closest to him, who will continue to carry his spirit forward with love.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonita Heavrin; and his father, Pokey Ware.

Joshua will be remembered for his warmth, his outgoing nature, his love of family, and the simple happiness he found in the outdoors, music, history, and the companionship of his pets. His memory will remain a lasting presence in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM with a celebration of life at 6:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150).

The family requests that contributions in Joshua’s memory be made to Newcomer Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
