Joseph Rodford "Buck" Wright, Sr., 89, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed yard work.
He was born on May 10, 1928, in Springfield, Kentucky, to the late Harrison and Mary Wright. Buck was also preceded in death by his brothers, James and George Wright; and sisters, Anna Weathers, Hazel Spaulding, Nancy Fenwick, Hattie Porter, and Ethel Lasley.
Buck leaves to cherish his memory his children, Joseph Wright, Jr., Pamela Speights (Mark), George Wright, Lenora Wright, Cynthia Wilson (Issac), and Shelia Payne; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Galatian Missionary Baptist Church (2020 Maryland Avenue, New Albany, Indiana) with his Funeral Service taking place at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
