Joseph Richard Tomlin, age 68 passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. He was born July 21, 1942 to the late Harry and Anna Ruth Cox Tomlin. He graduated from Valley High School- class of 1960, and was retired from General Electric. He was a member of Highview Baptist Church, and a member of AMVETS post 61 in Okolona.
Mr. Tomlin is survived by his 3 children, Chris Tomlin (Donna), Jeff Tomlin (Shauna), Cindy Becton (Rick); and 6 grandchildren, Hannah, Noah, Alex, Sarah, Demi and Cody. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed his weekly golf group that were his good friends and in as much family as well.
Funeral ceremony will be 11 am Friday, September 3, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive where visitation will be Thursday 2-7pm and Friday 9am until time of service. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
