Joseph Wayne Lockwood

October 5, 1943 — February 20, 2023

Joseph Wayne Lockwood, 79, of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023. Joe attended Fern Creek High School. He was employed by Cardinal/Lipps Lithographing in New Albany for 46 1/2 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, who served as a sharpshooter before being honorably discharged. He enjoyed fishing and loved country music, Corvettes, and NASCAR.

He was born on October 5, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Henry Lockwood and Irene (Conway) Lockwood. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Booher.

Joe is survived by his significant other, Suwanit Thammachart; children, Wayne (Rhonda) Lockwood and Wendy (Bobby) Fuchs; brother, Ralph (Kathryn) Lockwood; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Pigeon Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Waddy, Kentucky.
