Joseph G. Kruer, a beloved member of his family, passed away on February 6, 2026, at the age of 39 in Lanesville, Indiana. Born on October 3, 1986, in New Albany, Indiana, Joseph was a 2005 graduate of New Albany High School and built a respected career as a Heavy Equipment Operator for IUOE Local 181.
Known for his warm spirit and genuine connections with those around him, Joseph brought joy and love to his relationships with family and friends. His exuberant personality was complemented by his many hobbies, including fishing, singing, and dancing, which he enjoyed wholeheartedly. Joseph cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, and his greatest pride was found in the time he shared with his nephew and other children, which were among the most joyful experiences of his life.
Joseph leaves behind his devoted brother, Zachary Kruer; nephew, Burklee Griffin; his stepfather, Bill Brinley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who will all deeply miss him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mark Anthony Kruer; his mother, Cindy Louise Brinley; and his brother, Mark Burnette, Jr. Joseph's legacy of love and connection will remain in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him as a kind and loving soul.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of Joseph.
