Joseph Anthony "Joey" Hamilton, 30, of Greenville, Indiana, died on Monday, October 16, 2017. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army who served in the 101st Airborne in Afghanistan from March 2010 to March 2011 in the Korengal Valley.
Joey was born on April 30, 1987 in Covington, Kentucky to William J. Hamilton and the late Claire K. McDavid. Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jesse "Freck" Hamilton; and grandmother, Mary McDavid.
He is survived by his father, William "Bill" Hamilton and his wife, Heidi; siblings, Michelle Teves, Matt Hamilton and his wife, Jessica, David McDavid, Daniel Hamilton and Morgan Hamilton; grandmother, Jean Hamilton; and 7 nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 5 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Sacred Cross Oratory (3682 U.S. 150, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119). His Memorial Service will follow at 5 PM on Thursday at the church. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at New Albany National Cemetery.
