Joseph F. Drinkwater, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

He was born on March 30, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to James and Violet Broadway Drinkwater. Big Joe spend his entire life working and caring for his family. He was a member of the Louis Masonic Lodge in Louisville. He owned and operated JD's Asphalt Paving until he retired a few years ago. He was loved and will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Esther O'Neil Drinkwater; father, James H. Drinkwater, mother, Violet Drinkwater; brother, James H. Drinkwater; and sister, Anna Mae Smith.

Joseph is survived by his sons, James (Liz) Drinkwater, Joseph Thomas (Carol Ann) Drinkwater, and Michael "Mike" Drinkwater; daughter, Betty Ann Williamson; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
