Joseph Ray Courtney, 76, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Ray was a proud member of IBEW Union. He enjoyed race cars, horse back riding, boating, and spending time with family and friends.

He was born on August 11, 1947 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Thomas and Mary (Martin) Courtney. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bradley Scott Courtney; brother, Stanley Courtney; and brother in law, John Anderson.

Ray is survived by his children, Melinda Pace, Kimberly Courtney, Curtis (Olivia) Courtney and Anthony Courtney; grandchildren, Alexander Pace, Jermey Pace, Nicholas Miller, Skylar Courtney, Bradley Courtney, Jr., and Emily Courtney; great grandchildren, Molly, Ava, Devonta Cyrus, Liam, and Lillith; siblings, Allen (Barbara) Courtney, Anna Lee (Daniel) Landon, Teresa Anderson, Mary Edith Courtney, Sharon (Michael) Bottorff, and Samuel Courtney; sister in law, Karen Courtney; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Cremation has been entrusted to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions.

The family requests that contributions in Ray's memory be made to donors choice.
