Joseph Francis Cotton, age 78, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. He graduated from both St. Xavier High School and Bellarmine College. Joe was a former insurance representative with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Phil Brown Insurance Agency. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy (Sr.) and Bertha Cotton; and his brother, Leroy Cotton, Jr.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of almost 39 years, Marian Cotton; his loving daughter, Emily Cotton; sisters, Dolly Holzknecht (Ron) and Dot Patterson (Jim); and a host of relatives and friends.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Jane Cornett and the Episcopal Church Home staff for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Joe's life will be 1pm Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, followed by visitation until 5pm.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
