Josefina Rocha Monrroy Phillips, a vibrant and loving soul, passed away on June 12, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on July 8, 1958, in Castillo De Teayo, Veracruz, Mexico, Josefina carried with her the warmth and spirit of her birthplace throughout her life, touching all who knew her with her outgoing and fun-loving nature.

Josefina’s heart was full of love for her family, which she often described as her proudest accomplishment. She found immense joy and purpose in the company of her loved ones, especially cherishing the precious moments spent with her grandchildren. Her generosity and kindness were evident in every smile and embrace she shared.

An avid cook, Josefina delighted in creating meals that brought people together around the table, infusing each dish with the flavors of her heritage and the love she held within. She was equally passionate about crocheting, a skill that allowed her to craft beautiful pieces with patience and care, and gardening, where she nurtured life and beauty with the same tender devotion she gave her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Rocha and Eudocia Monrroy; brother, Victor Rocha and sister, Alba Rocha.

Josefina leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband, Ronnie Phillips; daughter, Maricruz Carranza Rocha; sons, Carlos Rene Carranza Rocha and William Rocha Monrroy; grandchildren, CJ Phillips, Ozzy Morales, Xander Philips and Carlos Manuel Carranza and brothers, Sidronio Rocha, Manuel Rocha and Andres Rocha; sister, Martha Rocha Monrroy.

The visitation to honor Josefina’s life will be held on June 21, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy in Louisville, KY 40272. Though Josefina has departed from this world, the legacy of her laughter, her unwavering love, and her joyful spirit remain forever etched in the hearts of those she cherished. She lived a life filled with purpose and passion, teaching us all the true meaning of family and the beauty found in every moment spent together.

Josefina Rocha Monrroy Phillips will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
