Joni Abell Stout Gatewood

Joni Abell Stout Gatewood, 65, of Louisville, KY, passed away on October 12th after a long fight with cancer. She passed peacefully at home with her husband, Joe, by her side.

Joni was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Rita Abell, and brother Charles Abell. She is survived by her husband, Joe; her sister, Diane Rohleder; her son, Bobby Stout (Debbie); 3 step-sons, Joe (Emily), Josh (Sarah), and John (Erica) Gatewood; 10 grandchildren, Ayla, Taya, Joe, Bobby, J.T., Zoe, Lizzie, Addison, Juliana, Eve; and her fur-babies, Chloe and Pippen.

Joni loved Bunco nights with friends. She could always be found listening to her favorite Elvis singer at the local Mexican restaurant. And she loved a quiet, getaway in the Great Smoky Mountains; a place she and Joe enjoyed together. Joni was loved as a wife, mom and granny. She was a treasured friend and her presence will be missed.

Visitation will be from 12-5pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations Funerals & Receptions (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her service will begin at 5pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
