Jon Michael Miller, M.D., Ph.D., of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2025, at age of 70.
Born on June 4, 1955, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dr. Miller was the son of John Evert Miller and Berneice Lucille Miller, Ph.D. He dedicated his life to the compassionate care of others, both as a physician and an educator, leaving a legacy of intellectual depth, professional excellence, and heartfelt human connection.
Dr. Miller earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Louisville. Dr. Miller practiced general psychiatry and served as Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he was a teacher and mentor to medical students and residents.
He is survived by his daughter Rachel Lewis, and his cherished grandchildren, Maddox Lewis and Levi Lewis, who brought him great pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Katharine Cheney.
He leaves behind a meaningful legacy of healing, knowledge, and care.
Memorial service will be held at the Peterson Dumesnil House 301 S Peterson Avenue, Louisville Kentucky on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
