Jon B. Guess

January 21, 1938 — June 19, 2016

Jon B. Guess, 78, passed away on June 19, 2016 in New Albany, Indiana. Jon graduated from Taylor County High School and Troy State College of Troy, Alabama. He retired in 1996 from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 40 years of service. A veteran of the U. S. Army Reserves, Jon was a member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany, the Masonic Lodge, and Shriner's Club.

Jon was born on January 21, 1938 in Perry, Florida to the late Raymond and Eula (Brennan) Guess. He is also preceded in death by his son, Richard Raymond Guess.

He is survived by his wife, Arbutus (Boots) Guess ; children, Kathy Guess, Jon M. Guess, Eugene Dean, and Derrick Crecelius; brother, Jim Guess, of Perry, Florida; sister, Annie Guess Fillinger of Dowling Park, Florida; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Wednesday from 9 to 11 AM. His Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, June 22, at 11 AM followed by burial at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.
