Johnny Benton Andrews, 84, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on January 5, 2017. He was born on October 19, 1932, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Jesse and Hallie (Boyd) Andrews. Johnny was an electrician by trade, enjoyed watching IU basketball, and was a Christian by faith.
Along with his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his stepsons; Dennis, Stanley, and George Bussey; brothers, Denzil, Marshall, Charley, Bill, Blonde, Roy, and Junior Andrews; and sister, Mary Ann "Andrews" Peters. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Murel "Berniece" (Amick) Andrews; his children, Mark Andrews, Linda Elsmore (Eric), and stepdaughter, Vivian Whitlow (George); siblings, Hobson Andrews, Irene Johnson, and Peggy Pogue; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) with service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at New Market Cemetery in Marysville, Indiana.
