John was born on December 10, 1938, in Springfield, Kentucky to the late Robert and Sally (Montgomery) Young. He was also preceded in death by his Brothers, George Irvin Young, Andrew Young, Howard Joe Young, and Sister, Laura Della Mays.
John is survived by his Wife of 50 years, Robbie Jean(Wright) Young; Daughters, Deborah Evans-Young and Norma Thornton (Keith-Deceased). Sons, Matthew Young and Jermaine Young(Tiffany). Brothers, Leon Young(Fannie), Bobby Young(Naomi), and Kenneth Young(Elizabeth-Deceased). Sisters, Nannie Gilbert(Clarence), Geneva Ford(Steve), Louise Gilbert(Jack-Deceased), and Mildred Keene(James-Deceased), Granddaughters, Latasha O'Bannon(Terry), Timica Thornton, Brieana Young, Latavia Evans, Cortney Evans, Lyndsey Young, and Jada Young. Grandsons, Isaiah Young, Jermaine Young, Jr., and Omari Young. Great-Grandsons, Deonta' Thornton, and Terrance O'Bannon. Great-Granddaughters, Ciera Thornton, and Ke'Aris Thornton, and his beloved dog, Lady.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, April 13, 2018 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1545 Louis Coleman Jr. Dr. Louisville, KY 40211. A celebration of John's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to Mrs. Robbie Young.
