John William Miller passed away on March 30th 2015 in Cincinnati, OH. He was born in Muncie, IN on May 24th 1928 to John Henry and Dorothy (McCoy) Miller. He lived in Arizona from age 13 to 23 and continued a love of southwest cuisine throughout his life. He graduated from the University of Arizona with an engineering degree.

John entered the Army on June 29th 1951 at Fort Hood, TX. He served as a First Lieutenant (Forward Observer) at the Battle of Pork Chop Hill during the Korean War. He received a UN Service Ribbon and Korean Service Medal. After returning from active duty, John married Clorine Musick in Louisville, KY. They have three children. He worked as a mechanical engineer in a variety of positions in South Carolina, Delaware, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio.

He is survived by his children, Bill (Kate) Miller, Lisa Miller and Julie (Paul) Harris, former wife, Clorine Musick, sister, Suzie (Abe) Bell, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be greatly missed by his dear friends, Gloria M. Taylor (a friend of 25 years) and her daughter, Christina M. Baysinger, who shared a very special bond with this kind, gentle man, his friends at the American Legion Anderson Post 318, former coworkers, and friends and family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Anderson Post 318, 6660 Clough Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio 45244.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive).

Funeral ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 10:00am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
