John Wilson Walsh, Sr., 80, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Baptist Health Floyd surrounded by his family. He loved working with his hands by tending to his garden and working with leather. John also loved to fish and was a member of the Buffalo Trace Leather Guild. Besides all of his hobbies and interests, his true love was for his family and spending time with them.
He was born on November 22, 1937, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late John Henry and Ethel (Wilson) Walsh. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Flora (Serrano) Walsh; and cousins, Mildred Olson and Floyd E. Inge, Jr.
John is survived by his children, Janet D. Walsh and John W. Walsh, Jr. (Brenda); grandchildren, John W. Walsh III, Casey Smith (DJ), Alexis Paige Walsh, and Luke Aaron Walsh; great-grandchild, Hadley M. Walsh; sister, Joyce Walsh Paschall; and cousins, Clifford Woodward and Bernice Walker.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in Edwardsville Cemetery.
